FiN Guide Development Program Weekend
November 9, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - November 10, 2019 @ 12:00 pm

Join us for Families in Nature’s Guide Development Program to get your school or community out into nature to play, learn, and volunteer together!
This Guide Development Program will be a fun and thorough training that will give you everything you need to be able to take families out into nature safely. You will leave with new friends and over 1400 ideas for teaching informal science and nature education outside to all ages of participants through our Ecologist School Program. Families are invited to attend the Guide Development Weekend as well. You and your family will learn new leadership skills and fresh ways to explore nature.
The FIN Guide Development Program is a great resume builder for those looking to grow or expand their career in the outdoor, environmental education, or conservation fields.
What to Expect:
The FIN Guide Development Program is a two days of camping in Central Texas. Saturday will be filled with opportunities for our Guides’ families to explore with our FIN Junior Ecologists, while Guides learn about the Ecologist School Program, how to plan successful adventures, how to keep families safe outdoors, and how to inspire hope and a love of nature. Saturday night we will share a potluck dinner by the fire. Sunday morning we will start the day with a nature walk, break down camp, and allow plenty of time for new Guides to ask questions before we conclude the weekend. Gear will be provided for those who are traveling or do not own their own camping equipment.
The weekend will be held at the lovely Ardor Wood Farm, which has been graciously donated by friends of FIN, Karen Knight and Graham Pierce.
